Who we are
This website is operated by 8Hats Lab Inc., a Delaware corporation (United States) — the entity responsible for the personal data described on this page. Our lab works out of Singapore and Silicon Valley.

What we collect
- Email you send us. Every contact point on this site is a plain email link — there is no form. When you write to us (to join the self-check waitlist, request a consultation, or propose a collaboration), we get your email address and whatever you choose to write. It lands in our email provider's systems.
- Ordinary server logs. Our web host records standard request logs — IP address, browser type, page, timestamp — as every web server does. We don't profile them, connect them to you, or use them for anything but keeping the site up.
- Nothing else. No analytics, no tracking cookies, no advertising pixels, no third-party scripts, no session recording. This site sets no cookies at all — which is why you're not being asked to accept any.
Do Not Track
We don't track you across other sites, and we let no third party do it here — so there is nothing for a Do Not Track signal to switch off. We therefore don't act on DNT signals: we already don't collect what they're built to stop.
How we use it
- To reply to you, and to tell you when the self-check ships.
- To understand who's interested and what they need — which shapes what we build.
- We do not sell or share your data, and we don't send you anything you didn't ask for. Any email we send about the launch has a one-click unsubscribe.
- Aggregate, de-identified statistics (e.g. the distribution of self-check results) may be published — never anything that identifies you or your organization.
How long we keep it
Until you ask us to delete it, or until the waitlist has done its job and the conversation is plainly over.
Your rights
Email hello@8hats.ai to see, correct, export, or delete anything we hold about you. We'll do it — no process theater. We aim to respond within 30 days.
If you're in the EU or the UK
8Hats Lab Inc. is the data controller. Our legal basis is your consent when you ask to join the waitlist (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), and our legitimate interest in answering you when you write to us (Art. 6(1)(f)). You have the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection, and you can withdraw consent any time by replying to any email. We are a US company: your data is processed in the United States. You may complain to your supervisory authority (in the UK, the ICO) — but email us first, we'd rather just fix it.
Children
This site is for professional audiences. We don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 16. If you think a child has written to us, tell us and we'll delete it.
Research data
Our published datasets are de-identified before release; how each one was de-identified is documented in its Zenodo record (see Research). Diagnostic engagements are governed by their own written agreements, not by this page.
When this changes
If we start collecting anything new — a form, analytics, anything at all — we update this page before we turn it on, and move the date at the top. If a change materially affects data you've already given us, we'll email you.
