Website and service terms
Last updated: 13 October 2026. These service terms apply to new orders confirmed from this date; existing orders keep their agreed terms.
This website publishes research and offers services. These terms cover using the website and ordering the AI research services at 8hats.ai/ask, sold by 8Hats Lab Pte. Ltd. in Singapore. Paid ask services are ordered by email and paid through an invoice or a hosted payment link. Separate consulting and diagnostic engagements use their own written agreements.

This site is operated by 8Hats Lab Inc., a Delaware corporation (United States). The lab works out of Singapore and Silicon Valley.

Seller of ask services

The US website operator and the Singapore seller are separate legal entities. The invoice and payment request for an ask order identify the Singapore seller.
What these terms cover
By using 8hats.ai you accept the website terms. Paying a confirmed ask order accepts the service terms, its stated scope and the delivery, cancellation and refund policy. You do not need a website account to order by email.
These terms cover browsing this site, reading our notes and research, sending an inquiry through one of the forms, and using the datasets and papers we publish. Our privacy policy is part of them and explains what we collect.
They do not cover Agents University, which is a separate property. If you have a question about that site, ask us and we'll answer directly.
Ordering and paying for ask
Choose a service on the price page and send your request to ask@8hats.ai. Reply MONTH or QUARTER and the payment link arrives here, in this email thread. When payment links are unavailable, invoices arrive from sales@8hats.ai. Check the service, quantity, total in Singapore dollars and seller before paying. If anything is unclear, contact sales@8hats.ai before you pay.
Prices on the ask page are final, in Singapore dollars. No GST is charged. Extra work requires a separate agreed order and payment; sending an inquiry or requesting the one-time trial does not authorize a charge.
Where a payment link is supplied, Airwallex hosts the payment page and displays the available payment methods. Enter payment details only on that hosted page, not in an email to us. The methods available for an order are those shown at payment; we do not promise that every card or wallet is available.
Work starts after payment and receipt of the information needed for that service. A month of research starts on payment, using your trial search. You can change the search by reply after payment. Without a trial request, we ask for your search criteria first. A quarter starts when we activate it after payment. These are prepaid fixed-term orders, with no automatic renewal or recurring charge.
The scope, delivery and refund rules are in our delivery, cancellation and refund policy. We keep the agreed terms for an order even if the public price page later changes. Specific written order terms take priority where they describe that order; mandatory rights and the stated refund guarantees are not waived by a general disclaimer.
Research services and customer materials
An AI agent prepares and sends ask reports automatically. People do not proofread every report. Reports support your business decisions; they do not guarantee sales, buying intent or any other business result. Check important facts before relying on them.
Only send materials you have the right to provide. We use your request and materials to perform the service as described in our privacy policy. You retain your rights in those materials. You may use the delivered work in your business, subject to third-party rights in quoted or linked sources.
Do not send passwords, payment-card details or unnecessary sensitive personal information. We do not send outreach on your behalf. Public business contact details are not permission to send unsolicited marketing.
Diagnostic engagements are separate
A diagnostic or consulting engagement is governed by the written agreement signed for that engagement. That agreement identifies its seller, scope, price and applicable law. A general inquiry does not start a paid engagement. This separate-contract requirement does not apply to ask orders confirmed and paid under the process above.
What this site is, and what it isn't
What you find here is research: notes, benchmarks, a glossary, datasets, and eventually a self-check. It's published so people can read it, argue with it, and use it.
It is not professional advice — not legal, compliance, security, financial, or engineering advice. A self-check result is not a certification, an audit, an accreditation or an assurance of anything, and it doesn't mean we've reviewed your systems. Our findings describe what we saw at a point in time; they can be incomplete, they can be wrong, and we revise them. Please don't make a consequential decision on our work alone. If you need an assessment of your own systems, that's what the diagnostic is for, and it comes with a contract.
The inquiry forms
You can send an inquiry on six pages — /contact and /for-hr-leaders, which share the same general inquiry form, plus /research, /for-executive-education, /for-ceo and /design-partners. A normal inquiry receives an acknowledgement email, and a person here reads it and may reply to the address you gave. A PDF request link asks for a separate document-delivery email for the document named in that link. Both visitor-facing messages go to the address you provide, with an internal BCC to di@8hats.ai for handling. The submitted inquiry details are also sent to sales@8hats.ai through Resend for internal review, with di@8hats.ai BCCed. None of this is a purchase, a reservation, a place in a queue, or a promise of pricing, access or an engagement.
If a form is temporarily unavailable, you can email us using the link on that page.
The contact form carries one optional tick — "Also send me occasional research updates." Ticking it means we may write to you when we publish something. You can leave at any time — one click in any update we send, or write to hello@8hats.ai.
Our site content
The writing, design, name, logo and marks on this site belong to 8Hats Lab Inc.
You're welcome to quote us and link to us — that's why we publish. Quote a reasonable extract, say it's ours, and link to the source. What we ask you not to do: republish a whole piece as your own, translate or repackage our material without attribution, or present our work in a way that suggests we endorsed, certified or reviewed you.
Published datasets and papers
Our datasets and papers are released through Zenodo, and each record carries its own licence. That licence governs that dataset — this page doesn't override it, narrow it, or add conditions to it. Before you reuse a dataset, read its record.
Please cite the record you used, including its version, since datasets get revised and superseded. And note the obvious: research data is provided for research. We don't warrant that a dataset is accurate, complete, current, or fit for any particular purpose, and findings drawn from it are ours at a point in time, not a permanent claim about the world.
Fair use of the site
Read as much as you like. A few things we ask you not to do:
- Bulk scraping, crawling against our
robots.txt, or automated harvesting of the site. - Probing, overloading, or interfering with the site or its infrastructure.
- Claiming to be us, to speak for us, or to be affiliated with, endorsed by or certified by 8Hats Lab.
Things you send us
For general inquiries, do not send information that needs a separate confidentiality agreement until we have agreed one. Feedback about our published research may help us improve it. This does not grant us ownership of your business materials or permission to publish them. Materials sent for ask orders are processed for the service under the privacy policy.
Links to other places
We link out — to Zenodo, to Google's policies, to Agents University, to other people's research. Those sites are run by other people, under their own terms and privacy policies. We don't control them and we're not responsible for them.
No warranties
Free website content and published research are provided as is and as available. We do not guarantee they are error-free or suitable for every purpose. This does not exclude our delivery and refund commitments for paid services or any rights that cannot legally be excluded.
Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows: we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses, or for lost profits, revenue, data or business, arising from your use of this site or our published research. Our total liability for anything connected with this site is capped at US$100.
This cap applies only to browsing the free website and published research. It does not limit a refund owed for an ask order or apply to paid ask services. A diagnostic engagement has its own terms. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, such as for fraud.
Indemnity
If you breach the fair-use section and cause a third party to bring a claim against us, you cover its reasonable costs to the extent permitted by law. This clause does not remove your rights concerning paid services.
Governing law
Ask services sold by 8Hats Lab Pte. Ltd., including payment, delivery and refund disputes, are governed by the laws of Singapore, with disputes subject to the courts of Singapore. Contact sales@8hats.ai first so we can investigate and try to resolve the issue.
Use of the free website operated by 8Hats Lab Inc. is governed by Delaware law, with disputes subject to the courts of Delaware. Mandatory protections that apply where you live remain in force. The website's Delaware clause does not apply to purchases from the Singapore seller.
The usual small print
If a court finds any part of these terms unenforceable, the rest stays in force. If we don't enforce something straight away, we haven't given it up. We may transfer these terms as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of the business; you can't transfer them. Together with the privacy policy, this page is the whole agreement about your use of this site — and it doesn't touch any separate agreement we've signed with you.
Changes to these terms
We update the date when these terms change. Changes apply to new orders and do not reduce the agreed scope or guarantees of orders already paid for. Separate signed agreements continue to govern the engagements they cover.
